Are you "electric"?
Do streetlights go out when you walk or drive past them, only to turn back on again after you pass? Have you given up wearing a watch because they "never seem to work right" on you? Are lightbulbs around your home replaced often? Do you get shocked all the time when you touch things? If so, then you could be an "Electric Person" or "SLIder". So what is a "SLIder"? The first three letters of SLIder stand for "Street Light Interference". SLIders, or Electric People as they're also known, have a tendency to affect electrical devices around them. Nobody really knows why this is, since it's a relatively new field of study, but research over the last few years has shown that being an Electric Person isn't a rarity anymore. While only a small percentage of the population are considered true SLIders, more and more people seem to be coming forward with this trait. Research in this field is still ongoing, but there are a few similarities that seem to be panning out from the research. Signs You
May Be a SLIder There seem to be two kinds of SLIders: Those who have experiences during emotional states such as anger or sadness, and those who do not have any kind of strong emotions at the time of their experiences. The latter have reported more often than not that their minds are "blank", "distracted' or that they "aren't really thinking of anything" at the time. Another similarity among SLIders is that they seem to have a distaste for aluminum foil, whether it involves another metal utensil touching the foil, wrapping/cooking food in foil, or touching/tasting foil. Some have described experiencing a tingling (like a 9 volt battery touching your tongue), while others have stated that they experience a metallic taste in food or silverware that comes into contact with aluminum foil. SLIders also seem to be
predisposed to having a higher incidence of getting "shocked" on
common, everyday objects. Apparently, they can even get
shocked on objects that would never even be thought of as
conductive. Research into this relatively new field is still ongoing. If you have any information that you'd like to contribute to our SLIder research, please contact me at: Jackie@learnaboutghosts.com. I have been a SLIder all my life, and my paternal grandfather was also known to be a SLIder. My grampa could not wear a watch and rubber fishing waders at the same time, because his watch would go wonky every time he did. Whenever he went fishing, he had to take off his watch. I myself am the kind of SLIder who mostly blows out lights and gets shocked...alot. I once blew out a different lightbulb in my home each night for a week. And on two occasions, while on vacation, I blew out 6-7 streetlights in one evening, and also on one occasion, a floodlight. This happens when I am in a calm, unemotional state.I can't stand eating from aluminum foil with a metal utensil because the utensil will have a tinny taste as well as feel like it has a slight charge when I put it in my mouth. I also get shocked constantly. |
