Is This Courthouse Haunted?

Ghostly Image Caught on Surveillance Tape

Is a Courthouse in Charlotte, North Carolina, haunted?  On Nov. 16, 2006, an image caught on a surveillance tape after hours was so real, that security guards went up to the room to check to see if anyone was really there.  They found nothing, but guards still monitoring the security cameras were surprised to see the guards sent into the room appear to walk right through the woman on the camera!

She appeared to be sitting at a desk, writing.  Camera news crews covering the story thought that perhaps the ghostly image was simply a reflection in the glass surrounding the cashier desks in that area.  "While shooting today, we saw it again, in color, in the middle of the screen, just over Barbara Jones' shoulder."

"The image appears to be in a glass shield in a cashier's office.  We entertained the thought that it could be a reflection, but we searched the office, but found nothing that would create this image."

One officer, Lonnie Reap, who has worked at the Courthouse for almost 30 years is convinced the place is haunted.  He claims to have heard footsteps when nobody was there, and other unexplained noises.

According to one historian, ghosts are normally associated with some tragedy, but the courthouse does not have any history of anyone dying or being killed there.

The image at left is the original one caught by security surveillance cameras.  This is the image that security officers saw as other officers walked through her.
The image at right is the one caught by the news camera crews on a different day.  Are these two photo images captures of a residual haunting, that is, a haunting that repeats itself over and over again?
Close-up and enhanced version of what the security guards caught on the surveillance camera.  The general consensus is that it appears to be a woman writing on a tablet.
